A Brief Introduction

Dr. Reinfeld was born and raised in Brooklyn. After graduating medical school at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine, he completed his residency in psychiatry at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Dr. Reinfeld served as Chief Resident in his 3rd year of residency overseeing academic research and scholarly activities.  During his tenure, he has published over 14 papers on various psychiatric topics including depression, mood disorders, and novel treatments for post-COVID mental health conditions. He has also won several awards related to clinical care and research that was recognized by Stony Brook University Hospital, New York State Psychiatric Association, and the American Psychiatric Association. He spearheaded several quality improvement projects that led to the improvement in quality of patient care.

Dr. Reinfeld saw many shortcomings in the way patients receive mental healthcare. Whether it was the lack of psychiatrists that accept insurance, inability to receive evidence based testing or treatment, and poor access to quality talk therapists, patients were not getting the help they desperately needed.

Along with Co-Founder and CEO, Itiel Cohen, Dr. Reinfeld sought to create a mental health organization that would provide a wide array of services to as many different types of patients as possible. PsychiaTreat was established to provide psychiatric assessment and treatment to patients who prefer or need in-person care while also having the option for virtual visits for patients who have limited transportation access or busy lives. By doing this, PsychiaTreat can provide mental health care to patients who need it the most.

Dr. Reinfeld specializes in diagnosing and treating patients with complex disorders including depression, ADHD, anxiety disorders, social anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, OCD, and post-COVID mental conditions. He has experience in  treatment-resistant depression and its cutting edge treatments. He is an expert in psychopharmacology and several psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, supportive psychotherapy, and interpersonal therapy.

Dr. Reinfeld also holds the position of Clinical Assistant Professor at Stony Brook University Hospital, where he actively contributes to the education and training of future psychiatrists.
